What we do
ChemSec is currently focusing on two of the on-going global negotiations, namely the Stockholm Convention (which has recently entered into force, now challenging countries to enact measures to implement it) and SAICM (Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management), which was adopted in February 2006.
In both these efforts, we work closely with IPEN (the International Persistent organic pollutants Elimination Network), a global network of public-interest, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) working on chemicals issues. IPEN is facilitating NGO participation in global decision-making processes. ChemSec is a member of the IPEN Steering Committee.
See our link list for more reading about other conventions.
