What we do
ChemSec is establishing a platform for progressive companies and encouraging them to express views and needs in their work to reduce toxic use. A broader expression of these comments in the public policy debate would be an important support towards legislative progress. It would prompt politicians to adopt measures more willingly to phase out hazardous substances and implement substitution and precaution.
ChemSec’s project aims to offer a business model for actions to build competence, experience and implementation of steps to make progressive business actors become advocates for forceful chemical legislation.
The programme will involve the political sector, non governmental organisations, business leaders and other stakeholders. A first step is to establish an informal stakeholders group consisting of companies that are already acting as business pioneers on toxic chemicals phase out.
