TCO Certified Supports a Stronger RoHS Directive
04 November 2009

TCO Certified, an eco-label for electronic equipment such as computers, displays, headsets and projectors, states it is time to move RoHS to the next level and that “the EU legislators now have the opportunity to follow and close the gap between legislation and what is already being done by the majority of the industry”.

TCO Certified states that their requirements regarding restrictions on hazardous substances, which a majority of the computer displays industry follows, are stricter than the current RoHS Directive. The almost hundred brands around the world producing electronics with the TCO Certified eco-label are all producing products where no plastic part weighing over 25 grams contains either brominated or chlorinated flame retardants or plasticizers or PVC – an achievement which shows that this indeed is possible today.
