| The Nordic Council advises Nordic governments to use the SIN List for public procurement |

In late January the Nordic Council decided to recommend the governments in the Nordic countries to initiate a procurement policy on hazardous substances for public authorities. It is suggested that products containing hazardous chemicals, such as e.g. listed on the SIN-list, should not be purchased when other alternatives are available. The Nordic Council is an intergovernmental forum for co-operation between the Nordic countries (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland).
